A one-day Self-Care Retreat
(& experience!)
Monday, May 5th
9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Rowe Center, Rowe, MA.
This spring, a circle of women will come together for one day in the beautiful setting of the Berkshire Mountains to explore and expand their concepts of Self-Care and Self-Nurturing. Perhaps you will join us.
Together this circle of women will…
- explore what self-care could look like in their lives
- consider ways to introduce daily self-care practices
- learn to identify warning signs that signal a need for self-care
- become clear on the difference between being “selfish” and “self-caring”
- realize the value of self-care and self-nurturing
- understand how self-care enhances our relationships, energy and creativity

Some of the things we’ll do:
- Observe what metaphors and/or lessons for Self-Care we find in Nature
- Guided imagery
- Sacred circle conversations
- Walking (including a labyrinth – weather permitting)
At the end of this one-day retreat each woman will
- be clear on what self-care looks like in her life, with its own unique set of circumstances and relationships
- have a “tool-kit” of self-care practices to support and nurture her throughout the year
- be able to identify her own warning signs that it’s time for some self-care
- be clear on the impact a lack of self-care can have on her health and relationships
- know why Self-Care is neither self-indulgent nor wickedly delicious – it’s a necessity and just plain delicious!

A special note from Coach Maggie:
Are you thinking you would LOVE to come, but you’re not sure you can take a day for yourself?
Well…here’s Something to Consider: For you to experience this day of Self-Care practice and learning it might mean that you have to arrange child or elder-care for the day…or maybe it means taking a personal day from work, or getting someone else to cover the car pool, or maybe making dinner the day before.
As a working woman myself, with a very busy life – I totally understand this. And, I also know how hard it is for most of us women to find the “perfect” time to take a time-out for ourselves because there’s always something- often important - that needs our energy and attention. So, I’ll share with you one of my most favorite quotes, which says it all, I think:
“Please be sure that your own oxygen mask is securely in place before attempting to help others.” Announcement by cabin crew on any flight, going anywhere in the world (self-care has no international boundaries!)
In addition to creating space for you to experience and hear your Authentic Self in the midst of your many roles – a worthwhile and empowering experience on its own – Self-Care will ultimately enhance your relationships with others, excite your creativity and give you the essential knowledge that you are living Your life.
